Hot Air Balloon

It is dawn and you are soaring above the sand dunes. There is an eerie silence until the pilot fires the balloon’s burner that takes you higher as you climb the side of the dune. The air is crisp and the sky is slowly fading from a deep navy to a soft blue. Suddenly in the horizon there is a burst of light, the last of the night’s stars melt away and the desert explodes into life. The dunes begin to glisten as if speckled with diamonds.

The balloon operates in the Wahiba Sands Desert close to the town of Al Wasil, approximately 2 hours drive from Muscat. Flights generally last one hour and will occur every day at sunrise. Due to weather restrictions, flights will be limited to the months between September and April. Our basket can accommodate up to eight people plus a pilot.
