Our time in Oman was terrific!! Abdullah showed us not only the obvious sites but took us also to villages, small wadis and some times local crafts men and restaurants which you had to know. Apart from that he showed us many aspects of Omani life and told us about it.

When we planned this holiday we were very reticent about travelling with a personal guide but looking back I am very positive and sure that we missed a lot when we were travelling on our own.

An important thing is of course with this kind of arrangement that the characters match. You still travel 5 days, 24 hours with each other. I must say that this worked out beautifully and he looked after us as a son after his parents.

We experienced that a 5 day trip was too short. When there is a next time we want to stay much longer in the desert camp and on one of the mountains to let the overwhelming surrounding nature sink in.

The guides in Salalah were good and friendly but could not match Abdullah who has a natural flair and frankness which made travelling with him to a joy.

"Our full day out was great - we had two brilliant local boys who drove us around, were incredibly knowledgeable and interesting and whose English was superb. They even helped with haggling in the souks! Nothing was too much trouble and they looked after us really, really well. We then had a great morning out on the boat - Jon's a great skipper! Sadly no dolphins came to see us, but the group had such a great time and even got some snorkelling in - a hugely successful day once again. Andrea and Jon are fantastic and they were great hosts and thought of everything."

“We had a fabulous time leaving at 0840 and getting back in at 12.30. Ahmed and the skipper saw dolphins about 10 mins after we left the Marina, we had at least 50 with us for over an hour – awesome!
